Hm, I looked at a Google search of portraits. It's seems jumbled in terms of earrings in these portraits. I think it would look fine without it. My friend thinks the earring doesn't add anything so it would be alright to get rid of it.
Hm, I agree, it somewhat distracts the viewer because it's so bright.
